<?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8"?>
<!--
  Sitemap index served as a STATIC file at https://dogdietlab.com/sitemap.xml

  Why an index instead of the full URL list?
  /sitemap.xml used to be a client-side JavaScript redirect (SPA route), so
  crawlers fetching it received an empty HTML shell / 404 instead of XML.
  Search engines cannot execute JS when fetching a sitemap, so the sitemap was
  effectively unreachable at its canonical location.

  This static index is real XML on the first byte and points at the dynamic
  generator (same host, which the sitemap protocol requires). The generator
  builds all ~3000 regional URLs with hreflang annotations.
